Important Announcement: USPS Component 6.5 Update W Available Now


 USPS has announced that effective June 29, 2015, shippers are required to submit customs information for shipments destined to APO/FPO/DPO locations as well as possessions, territories, and freely associated states. This data may be communicated to USPS via the D3 and D4 records of the shipping services file or via the EMCDB XML interface.

Additionally, effective July 30, 2015, shippers are required to migrate to the new USPS harmonized customs declaration specification for privately printed PS Form 2976 and PS Form 2976A. Specifications can be found on the RIBBS website.

USPS component 6.5 Update W is available now and supports this new functionality.

Customers who may not be able to implement these requirements by the dates listed above may send a request for exception to globaltradecompliance@usps.gov. The request should indicate that steps being taken to meet the requirements and the expected date of compliance.
