REACH Industry Webinars

Same Day Saves the Day
This October, ConnectShip collaborated with our partners on the Same Day Saves the Day REACH Webinar. Same Day has been a newsworthy topic; an answer to the speed of shipping demanded by today’s commerce. Our panelists discussed challenges, best practices, and how your business can benefit from implementing a same-day delivery service. You can access the on-demand webinar on our ConnectShip Vimeo Channel.

Blockchain: Building Blocks for the Future of Shipping

What if there was a way to pack every shipment with onboard intelligence, allowing it to arrive at each touch point ready to communicate and therefore expedite its arrival at the destination? That is one of the relevant applications of blockchain. Even with its challenges, blockchain is a promising tool in the shipping industry. This article builds on a previous Blogistics highlight of the technology.

The Green [Last] Mile

We’ve been hearing a lot about that tricky “Last Mile”, and what options are being tested to cut the cost. But what about the “greening” of the shipping world? Turns out there are just about as many green alternatives as there are carriers – and more being tried all the time! Drones have gotten a lot of press, as have robots, so let’s take a look at the variety of human-driven wheeled vehicles appearing on streets around the world.

ConnectShip Cares

ConnectShip Cares is more than just a section in our quarterly newsletter. ConnectShip is fortunate enough to be made up of individuals who believe in working to improve our communities and the lives of those around us. In 2019 we rolled up our sleeves and opened our hearts to volunteer in numerous capacities. Organizations we chose to work with this year included Junior Achievement (a national program that aims to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy), Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, the Tulsa Area United Way, and Domestic Violence Intervention Services of Tulsa (DVIS). We are grateful for such meaningful organizations in our area that allow us to step in and help out when we are able.

We are currently collecting new, unwrapped toys for the Toys for Tots program. Toys for Tots was founded in 1947 by the United States Marine Corps Reserve to distribute toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. We are one week into our collection event and our box is already overflowing with toys! For more information about your local Toys for Tots program click here.

DVIS, a Tulsa Area United Way agency, is the only nonprofit agency in Tulsa and the surrounding communities to provide comprehensive intervention and prevention services to men, women, and children affected by domestic and sexual violence. The DVIS mission is to rebuild lives affected by domestic violence and sexual assault through advocacy, shelter, counseling, and education. Working with Domestic Violence Intervention Services (DVIS) of Tulsa, ConnectShip was recently able to collect items for and contribute 20 adult basic need bags and 25 bags for young children!
